Global Citizen? What Do You Think?

Thinking about Global Citizen, I will immediately think about "unity", and "world". In the diagram above, I mentioned 5 things that I relate to the word "Global Citizen". I will explain all of them:

"We Are Part of This World and This Universe" - Everybody is the part of this world, and this universe. We all take part of this universe's life, and universe gives us a life to live. I mean, every single body in this world and universe.

"We Are Living in the Same World" - We all have one similarity, and that is we are living in the same world and the same universe. No matter how rich you are, how poor you are, how handsome or beautiful you are, how smart you are, we have to unite ourselves.

"Continual" - It will continue, and it will not stop along this life. It could be describe as an accordance within our life.

"Important for  Our Life and The Others' Life" - Essentially, we can't separate our life and the world unity. It is important to keep and hold it, so we must take care of this world's unity.

"Closely Related to Human Rights" - Talking about Global Citizen, we will talk about the reciprocal of ourselves and other people. We mustn't offend or limit other people rights, because we all have our own rights, but don't use our rights excessively.

Talking about Global Citizen, I will bring you to memories where the word Global Citizen was not impregnated by the people at that time. We might have seen or have heard the case of Apartheid, that only white people could be the authorities in South Africa. Or we might have experienced the Palestine and Israel war, or we might know as Gaza Conflict. Israeli armies extrude Palestinian people and take over Gaza and claim it as their city. They shoot down Palestinian people if they go against Israel.

In my country, Indonesia, I remember the case of Trisakti and Semanggi riot in reformation era. Four Trisakti students died in that incident. And then, Marsinah case. Marsinah was unknownly dead after she demanded the certainty of work dismissal of Marsinah and her friends. Not only that, we know Munir's murder was one of the biggest stir in Indonesia. The human rights activist was found dead in his journey to Amsterdam, Netherlands. Some people say that he was poisoned with arsenic by a certain group. And then, about 3 or 4 years ago, I heard in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, there was a riot between locals and state authorities (polices and armies). The locals got angered when they knew that the tomb of Mbah Priok was about to be moved by state authorities. So they went against the state authorities, and then riot happened. What I am confusing about the most, is that there are so many terrorism in Indonesia (or in the world, maybe). Not only terrorism, but corruptions, local riots, inequity justices, it's like parasites for Indonesia. Or maybe, for the world and the universe.

The cases above reflect that we can't be called as a good Global Citizen. We need peace, we need equality, we don't want any conflicts. I want the people to move along together, for one reason and one aim. And it is to live peacefully in this world, where people get close one another.

So, what should we do in maintaining the unity of this world?
And, what should we avoid? (In that picture, it is written "What we should not do", It should be written as "What we should avoid")

The last word from me to remember that we are the part of "global citizen".

Keep united! Stay together!
