Last Saturday, September 27th 2014 to be exact, my school held the art and culture festival called Matswapati. For those who don't know about what the name is, Matswapati is known for a figure of Indonesian puppet show called Wayang.
The day before Matswapati, I was sick because I was in the swimming pool for 2 hours continuously. I didn't feel so bad before that, so to be sick the day before Matswapati, it slightly demotivated me. So, I will begin at the decoration event. I started decorating at approximately 15.30 at Friday. I struggled to decorate because I didn't feel alright. First job that I did was sticking the thread to the origamis that my friends had made before. After that I took a rest for a while, and started doing something unnecessary, like taking a panoramic pictures in my friend's handphone, rubbing the banner, etc. At the evening I drew a picture of Wayang, but I failed. It actually looked like a "standing" chicken rather than a Wayang. Then, I went home at half past six, and arrived home at half past seven.
Finally, the day had come. We, together as X IPA 7, started the Matswapati with a parade. We wore either the Sundanese uniform (traditional kebaya and pangsi), and white t-shirts for those who didn't have pangsi or kebaya. We took a walk from Bali St., to Sumatra St., Aceh St., Merdeka St., Jawa St., and back to Bali St. We had so much fun there, and we took a lot of selfies along the parade! Unfortunately, it's not in my phone.
So, let's move on to the main festival. The festival was opened by the speech of Mr. Ridwan Kamil (Mayor of Bandung), Mr. Encang Iskandar (Headmaster of SMAN 3 Bandung), and Abdel Mohammad Deghati (Head Organizer of Matswapati). There were so many shows, such as local music performances by KPA3, MK, KV, theatre show from T'ST traditional dances, attractions of Pencak Silat, and Traditional Games. I also want to mention the Food Court. I thought that the foods which were sold there were so expensive. But I could set my budget there, so I didn't run out of money.
Before the evening, approximately 17.00, we saw the performance of Barsena. They performed so well, I thought. After the performance of Barsena, we had a little break for Maghrib prayer. After Maghrib prayer, what we had waited before finally came. It was Glenn Fredly, the popular singer of Indonesia. He sang several songs, including "Terserah" or in English it means whatever, which is the song that we had been waiting.
Matswapati ended at 20.00, and I was so tired but I felt so happy to be there. After I arrived home, I almost immediately slept at the floor! I slept at 22.00, and then I woke up for Shubuh prayer for a short time, and then took a sleep again to half past ten! It was the most comfortable sleep I've ever had!
Lastly, I hope that SMAN 3 Bandung will keep holding this kind of events, in various ways, and various themes. Wait for my next post!
